Almost There

I am 38 weeks on Sunday and ready to pop to say the least. I will spare everyone a picture of my belly at this point. Hudson has dropped and is engaged. I am 1-2 cm dialated and contracting on a pretty regular basis. I have to wait until my water breaks or my contractions get stronger, faster, and longer.
I am pretty uncomfortable since he has dropped and it has made doing almost anything pretty hard. I have been walking (or at least trying to do so,) cleaning, and trying to get everything in order before the big day. Our doctor said that he thought it would probably be another week or so.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers these past 9 months. We couldn't have made it this far without everyone's love and support and can't wait for the big day to come.....We promise to keep everyone posted on Hudson's arrival!

The Nursery

I hope to have the nursery finished by the time that Hudson comes along. It is progressing slowly, but we will get there eventually.

Last weekend my mom and I hung letters above his crib and I think it only took us about 3 hours and many pencil marks on the wall before we got them right. They turned out really cute though. I am glad that my mom has a lot more patience than I do these days or else we would have never gotten these up at all.

This is a picture of the crib and the bedding. It is hard to see from this picture, but we choose a blue and cream toile pattern from a shop in St. Simons and had them make the bedding. It turned out really cute.
This is the changing station/ dresser that matches the crib. We went with cream furniture that is a little bit distressed looking. We are pleased with how it all turned out, but still have some things left to do in that room. Our next project is the window. We are having a roman shade made to block out the light, and are trying to bring in another pattern that will compliment the room (if we can ever decide on one that we like) Decorating a nursery is fun, but can add up quickly.

We hope that this room turns out to be one in which Hudson has MANY sweet dreams in!

Bedrest Update

I have been going to the OB weekly at this point since I was put on bedrest to monitor my contractions and my cervix. Within the last month of weekly visits, my condition has pretty much stayed the same. I am taking two medications which are doing a good job at stopping the contractions but have been hard on my system (side effects are not fun)

Dr. Fontana said that I just needed to keep doing what I have been doing this past month and I should be ok. I told him that being at home is gettting a little challenging these days and that I am trying not to get too stur crazy.

For all of you that wanted a belly picture, here you go. This is what my belly looks like at 31 weeks, and it is scary to think that it is only going to get bigger.

We were told that our furniture will be shipped out at the end of this week, and last weekend Jeremy removed the furniture that was previously in the baby's room, so it is now ready for baby furniture. We are still waiting on the bedding, and some minor other things for the room, but hope fully we can get that done in the next month, or at least that is our plan.

We had our first class last night on baby basics and things to expect. I could have done without the epideral explanation. The less I know about needles the better. Overall though the class was very informative and a good help at getting us ready for things to come.

It's Official

It has only taken us almost 28 weeks to come up with a name for our little one, but I am happy to report that I think we have finally agreed upon one. After looking at the internet for countless hours and looking in books, I resorted to my Aunt Joan for the Webster family book. I figured that there would be plenty of names in there to choose from and it would be an added bonus that these names were from our family. After a couple of days of looking, Jeremy found one that we both seemed to like. I have been waiting for a month or so to make sure that he didn't change his mind. After asking him about everyday, I think it is a go. We decided on............
Hudson Quinn Stansell
Hudson came from the Webster family tree book, and Quinn is Jeremy's middle name. We know it is official when I order an outfit with his name on it.
Now we are just waiting on our furniture and the bedding to come. We think that both will be here sometime in February.

A Bump in the Road

Well Tuesdays docotor's visit definitely turned out to be an unexpected bump in the road. I went in for my monthly checkup to quickly find out that things were progressing a little faster than we wanted. Based on my exam, I was told that my cervix is shortening and opening, which are two things that we do not want at 27 weeks. My doctor put me on two drugs to stop the contractions, and encouraged me to stop working. Being a pharmacist and standing for 12 hours a day is not something that seems to go well with pregnancy, therefore leading to early contractions. After a couple of days of the medication and shortened work shifts, I found myself back at the OB's office on Friday morning. I was told then that I was going to be on bed rest with NO more work. This was quite a shock to hear, but after talking things over with Jeremy and my family, it was a no brainer decision. What is important at this point is my health and the health of our little one, so it looks like I will be at home with weekly doctors visits to monitor my progress. I guess now I can catch up on all of my pregnancy books. This is the first time in my life that I have been home for an extended amount of time, so we'll see how things go.

Merry "Belated" Christmas and Happy New Year

I am a little late with the postings these days but hopefully I will get better the closer that we get to April. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at Jeremy's parents. Christmas afternoon we went to my mom and Michael's for Christmas dinner. After dinner the four of us went to a movie. Overall we had a wonderful Christmas and knew that this was the last one with just the two of us.

After Christmas we went to St. Simons to celebrate a belated Christmas with The McElhinneys and the Bulls. We decided to ring in the New Year with some family, but too bad that none of us even made it until midnight.

Shannon helped Tommy open his Wii that we have been surprising him with for the past 6 months. He told Esther that he wanted one for Christmas but she told him that she could not find one anywhere. Needless to say, he and Jeremy spent the majority of their time with Tiger Woods.

We played around the house, swam in the pool, played with Josh, watched movies, and loved going to the beach. Shannon is definitely on the go these days and seems to end up in any little place she can fit into, even Nana's antique cradle.

Kate was the master sand castle builder and showed us all how it should be done. It was a great day to relax at the beach and hang out with family. We only wish the Jamie and Laura could have been there with us.

The boys needed to relax after the many tireless hours of playing the Wii.

This definitely sums up our trip to St. Simons. Everyday was filled with many activities, and when nap time came around, we all seemed to be ready for a rest, especially Shannon.

Thanks to mom and Michael for a great mini-vacation. We had plenty of food, good times, rest, and relaxation. We couldn't have thought of a better way to bring in the new year, than with family. Next year we know will be much different with another little one running around (actually more like crawling) We can't wait and only hope that 2008 will be as great as 2007. It is amazing how quickly life changes in only a year.

We also wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to the Grice's on the birth of Lauren Elizabeth at 8:18pm on December 25, 2007. All are doing well and adjusting to life with a newborn. Michelle had Lauren via c-section and she weighed 7lbs, 12 ounces. We are so excited for the next addition to the neighborhood and have only a short amount of time to go until a boy gets added into that mix. I am sure that the girls on the street will show him who is boss.

Congratulations

We are happy to announce the arrival of Addison Kate Norris on Friday December 14, 2007. She weighed 7 lbs and 13 ounces and was born at 5:40 pm. The Norrises are all doing well. I just hope that our little one comes into this world a little easier than baby Addison. She definitely did not want to come out, and after many hours was brought into this world via c-section. We can't wait for our chidren to be able to play together in the years to come.
